Happy birthday Jesus 7

December is the favorite time of the year for many kids and for adults also. There are so many things happening. We help mom and dad get the house decorated for a big party.

Yes there is a big party that we are going to celebrate. Do you know what it is?

I am sure you do, it is Jesus’ birthday. We do not know when He was born, because the Bible does not give us His birth date but we are glad that we can celebrate Jesus on this special day, because God gave us the greatest gift of all

When Christmas Eve arrives many of us go to church for a candle light service and we sing beautiful songs about our Savior.

When we first get there we are given candles. Then everyone starts singing many Christmas songs reminding us of what happened the night the Savior was born. Now, just before we go home they dim the lights in the sanctuary and it gets very dark.

But all of a sudden the candles start being lit and the whole church is filled with light. Did you know that Jesus is the light of the world?

While this is all happening the choir and everyone sings that beautiful song called

“Silent Night, Holy Night”

and we go home feeling so wonderful because we worshipped the Savior.

On Christmas morning, we wake up to find a lot of packages under the tree.

treePackages wrapped in beautiful colored paper and tied up with pretty ribbons and bows.

As we are all opening our packages, all of a sudden you find a package that is wrapped in brown packing paper and tied with a string. And you wonder who does that one belong to?

Then you see your name and you wonder who sent it.

Well since there are a lot of other presents with your name, you put this one aside and start opening all the others. Well you forget all about that present and much later, your mother reminds you that there is still a present you haven’t opened.

Ok mom, I’ll open it, “you say” and to your surprise you find a beautiful Bible that your Grandpa and Grandma sent you.

All of a sudden you feel kind of bad and embarrassed. Well, unfortunately most people are interested in things that look pretty and glamorous. It does not matter what age they are they think that the plain things are not important.

We read in the Bible that God’s Gift to us didn’t come like many were expecting. God sent Jesus, His only Son, as His gift to us. His mother was a young virgin… and his earthly father was a poor carpenter.

He was born in a stable, quite and unusual place for the King of kings to be born, don’t you think?

We need to know and remember that Jesus is the greatest gift the world has ever received. He is the gift of salvation. He came to give this special gift for all who want to accept it. It is unfortunate, however, that many do not want His precious gift. That is very sad, don’t you think?

The Bible tells us that when Mary found out that she had been chosen to be the one to deliver God’s gift to the world, she was filled with joy.

 Mary singing to God

She sang a song glorifying God for choosing her, because she knew that she also needed a Savior.

“My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior . . . the Mighty One has done great things for me. . .” (Luke 1:46-47, 49)

Well, the Mighty One has done great things for us too. He has sent us the gift of His love.

JESUS the greatest gift of all WS

Many people however are so busy un-wrapping the beautifully wrapped packages that this world offers that they miss out on the greatest gift of all.

If you would like to know more how to accept Jesus as your Savior, the Bible will tell you how. Then, you might want to share what you have learned with someone in your family or with a friend.

So, just click here, and you can read all about it. It is called

and it will tell you all about salvation and why Jesus came and what He did for you.

Dear Father, we are thankful that You love us so much that you sent Your only Son to be our Savior. Thank you also that we get the opportunity to celebrate Jesus birthday.

Christmas praying (E)

We do not know when He was born, because the Bible does not give us His birth date. We are glad that we can celebrate Jesus today.  We can also celebrate and worship our Savior every day of the year. Amen.
