About Salvation

Wordless book - Bible

Have you ever seen a book without words, or photographs, or drawings? This wordless book serves to tell a wonderful biblical story about the true and living God who made the world. Is a book without words, and each color reminds us of a portion of the story.

In Jeremiah 31:3 God tells us “that He loves us with an everlasting love.” He is a God of love, who is holy and perfect, and can not allow anything in heaven that is not perfect. There is one thing that can never be in heaven. Do you know what that is?

There are three ways you can grow as a child of God:

  1. Talk to God – Always pray (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
  2. Read, listen to and obey the Word of God. Keep it in your heart so you won’t sin (Psalm 119:11)
  3. Attend church with your family and your friends (Hebrews 10:25)

If you want to be a child of God today, you need to receive Jesus as Savior so He can forgive you your sins. Talk to Him and He will listen.

You can pray like this: “Dear Jesus, I recognize that I have sinned, I need you to save me from my sins. Please forgive me of all my sins and make me your child. Thank you for dying for me, so I can have eternal life. Now I receive you as my Savior. Amen”

What did God promise? If you truly believe in Him and received Jesus as your Savior and make Him the Lord of your life, you are His son or daughter. Your sins are forgiven and have eternal life; now Jesus lives in your heart every day to help you obey God.

  • Admit – and confess that you are a sinner and cannot attain eternal life by myself. Repent and turn away from your sin. (Romans 3:23)
  • Believe – and trust  that Jesus Christ is God’s only Son who was crucified for your sins. (Romans 5:8)
  • Commit – and give your life to Jesus Christ and ask Him to be Savior and Lord of your life. (Romans 10:9)

Forgiveness – Everyone has sinned and needs God’s forgiveness. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

Available – God’s forgiveness is available to all. “God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Impossible – According to the Bible, it is impossible to get to heaven on our own. “By grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift-not from works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Turn – If you were going down the road and someone asked you to turn, what would he or she be asking you to do? (Change direction?) – Turn means repent

Turn away from sin and self. “Unless you repent, you will all perish as well!” (Luke 13:3)

Turn to Jesus alone as your Savior and Lord. “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

Heaven – Is the place where we will live with God forever if we are willing to repent of our sins and confess Christ. “If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also.” (John 14:3)
